Who: Intrepid travelers, Terrorists
What: Enhanced airport security
Where: Airports around the world
When: January 4th
Why: Bush’s Barack’s war on terror
The Saboteur’s Spin: With the global rollout of ‘enhanced’ security underway, the Saboteur is being extra careful not to pack nail clippers.
From January 4th all flights to, and within, the U.S. will require enhanced security, including pat downs, full body scans and ‘moderated behavior’ during the final hours of flight. A ‘black list’ of fourteen countries has also been compiled, of which one is non-Islamic (congratulations Cuba!). Passengers departing from these can expect especially long delays.
The Saboteur notes that past instances of airborne terrorism include Richard Reid’s attempt to blow up Flight 63, which ruined a good pair of shoes. More recently, Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab attempted to blow up Flight 253, ruining what the Saboteur hopes had been a clean pair of underwear.
To date, the most cataclysmic attack used the airplanes themselves to attack the World Trade Towers. Also, both Reid and Mutallab flew from countries absent from any ‘black list’, making the Saboteur wonder if all this new security is just another empty anathema for the masses.
